The Evening Standard makes for some interesting reading … Talking about the MegaBowl development they say: A new Streatham Playhouse forms part of the scheme, while Marks & Spencer is signed up for an on-site food store and café. A show flat will be ready for viewing at next month’s launch.

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 11th – THE EVENT OF THE YEAR – THE SCRUFFS DOG SHOW!  Held at the top of the common in the area by the paddling pool. Starting at 12 noon. Prizes for: Cutest Puppy, Bonniest Bitch, Handsomest Dog, Best Veteran, Best Rescue Dog, Dog and Spoon Races, Seven-Legged Races, Fancy Dress Competition for Dogs, Also parade of the Pets as Therapy dogs and numerous stalls.

Sunday September 18th – the Woodlawns Centre are holding their first ever English Village EID Fayre. They say ‘A fun-filled day for all the family, including face painting, bouncy castle, tug of war, alcohol-free bar, spa lounge and all the wonderful games we remember as kids.
